NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde invites applications for a Health Care Support Worker in the Adult Perioperative Department at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. You will support patients throughout the perioperative journey as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering safe, patient-centred care and developing clinical skills in a fast-paced NHS environment.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient-focused approach to supporting individuals in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Good communication, literacy, numeracy and basic IT skills.
• Willingness to undertake in-house training and mandatory learning modules.
• Awareness of infection prevention, safety and manual handling policies.

Responsibilities

• Support registered practitioners and the multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality perioperative care.
• Assist with safe movement, transfer and positioning of patients in the perioperative environment.
• Prepare, set up, clean and maintain theatre equipment and clinical areas for theatre lists.
• Assist with stock management, equipment checks and preparation of supplies for surgery.
• Accurately document patient and procedure information in electronic systems and records.
• Support waste management and infection prevention procedures in line with local policies.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and uphold patient safety and dignity.
