Job summary

The Droitwich Spa Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join the Theatre Scrub team on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week). The role involves assisting the surgical team, maintaining sterility, and supporting the anaesthetist across theatre activities to ensure safe patient care.

Applicants should have active registration (NMC/HCPC) with theatre experience, strong infection control knowledge, and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or ODP (HCPC) registration.
• Theatre experience in scrub, anaesthetics or recovery.
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and maintain sterility for procedures.
• Assist surgical team and anaesthetist with equipment and patient care.
• Monitor vital signs and manage pain/nausea post-op; ensure discharge readiness.
• Follow infection prevention policies at all times.
• Set up theatres per surgery type and patient needs.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe lists.
