Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford is seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join the Scrub team. This full-time, permanent position offers 37.5 hours weekly with a flexible shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in a theatre environment specialising in scrub, anaesthetics or recovery.
• Strong infection control, manual handling and patient safety understanding.
• Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve and adapt quickly to changes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safe surgical practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility and supporting the anaesthetist.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Check all surgical and anaesthetic equipment and report faults.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe and efficient theatre lists.
• Contribute to a positive, efficient theatre environment.
