Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Theatre Practitioner – Scrub (Bank) to join the Sarum Road Hospital team in Winchester. This is an “as and when required” bank role, supplementing staffing during busy periods and covering for leave or absence.

You will assist surgical teams by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, and supporting anaesthetist with equipment readiness, patient monitoring, airway management and positioning.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or HCPC registration.
• Experience in a theatre environment (scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery).
• Understanding of infection control and patient safety.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safe surgical practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and maintain sterility; support surgeon and anaesthetist.
• Set up operating theatres per surgery type and patient needs.
• Check and report faults on surgical equipment.
• Monitor patient vitals and assist with post-operative care.
• Adhere to infection prevention policies at all times.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
