Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is seeking a Scrub Nurse to join a leading Essex NHS Trust, working within the theatre team to support patients undergoing surgical and anaesthetic procedures.

You will be integral in maintaining sterile environments, preparing equipment, and liaising with theatre staff to ensure high-quality patient care. The role requires NMC/HCPC registration and UK experience, with flexible shifts offered to suit needs.

Qualifications

• Registration with NMC/HCPC is essential.
• Minimum 1 year post-graduate experience required.
• 6 months UK experience in the last 3 years is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain a safe and sterile environment for the patient throughout the surgical procedure.
• Identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the operating list.
• Prepare and organise the clinical area to receive patients for elective, emergency, and trauma procedures.
• Coordinate and maintain adequate stock levels of drugs, stores and implants liaising with Theatre Manager and procurement.
• Support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to ensure understanding.
• Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and prioritise care for patients undergoing surgical/anesthetic procedures.
• Contribute to ongoing development of patient care within the operating theatres.
