Job summary

The Portland Hospital, part of HCA UK, is recruiting a Theatre Practitioner – Anaesthetics to join our dedicated theatre team in London. You’ll work across paediatric, maternity and women’s health services with opportunities to develop anaesthetic skills in a busy private setting.

Accountabilities include preparing and maintaining anaesthetic equipment, supporting anaesthetists, monitoring patients and delivering compassionate perioperative care within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • HCPC registration or NMC registration is required.
  • Extensive post‑registration experience in anaesthetic theatres.
  • Recognised anaesthetics qualification or course completed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, check and maintain anaesthetic equipment.
  • Monitor patients during anaesthesia with highest safety standards.
  • Deliver compassionate perioperative care across the theatre journey.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team across paediatric, maternity and general surgery.

With more than 46 paediatric beds, a dedicated paediatric intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care services and over 175 paediatric consultants, you’ll be part of a hospital that delivers exceptional care to more than 40,000 children each year while also supporting one of the UK’s leading private maternity services.As a Theatre Practitioner – Anaesthetics, you’ll join a highly skilled multidisciplinary theatre team working across a wide range of surgical specialities including paediatric surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics, and general surgery. Our five fully integrated theatres provide access to advanced technology and equipment, giving you the opportunity to develop your clinical expertise in a busy and rewarding environment. This role is particularly well suited to someone looking to further develop their anaesthetic skills within paediatrics, supported by experienced colleagues who are committed to learning, collaboration and high standards of patient care.
