Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital is seeking a Theatre Manager to lead the Theatre, Cath Lab and Endoscopy teams, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and strong cross‑functional collaboration. You will manage budgets, contribute to governance and drive clinical improvements in a dynamically praised hospital.

Applicants should bring a nursing/practitioner background with senior clinical leadership, teaching and ILS/ALS training; a management qualification is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Nursing/practitioner qualification required.
• Senior-level clinical leadership experience necessary.
• Experience in teaching/assessment and ILS/ALS training.
• Professional management qualification is advantageous.

As a Theatre Manager at our Exeter Hospital, you’ll bring a nursing/practitioner qualification, specialist training and impressive senior-level experience in a clinical setting. Ideally, your wide-ranging skills will include teaching and assessment, as well as ILS/ALS. A professional management qualification would also be an advantage.

Core hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work and participation in the management on-call rota to ensure operational and clinical leadership support.

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital

The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.
