MedicsPro is recruiting an experienced Theatre Manager for a permanent position with a leading private hospital in South West England. You will lead the theatre team, oversee day-to-day operations and take responsibility for clinical quality, staffing, budgets and service performance.

The role requires substantial operating theatre experience and proven senior theatre leadership, with strong communication and decision-making skills. On-site role with a reputable private hospital.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration or ODP with HCPC registration.
  • Substantial operating theatre experience.
  • At least two years’ experience in a senior theatre leadership position.
  • Proven people management and team leadership experience.
  • Experience managing budgets, resources and service performance.
  • Strong operational, communication and decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visible clinical and operational leadership across the theatre service.
  • Lead, support and develop theatre, cardiac catheterisation laboratory and endoscopy teams.
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage staffing, resources, budgets and departmental performance.
  • Support service improvement, theatre productivity and effective utilisation.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants, senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams.

Theatre Manager | Private Hospital | South West England

MedicsPro is recruiting an experienced Theatre Manager for a permanent position with a leading private hospital in South West England.

This is a senior operational leadership role with responsibility for a diverse surgical service comprising:

  • Three operating theatres
  • A hybrid cardiac catheterisation laboratory and theatre

You will lead the theatre team, oversee day-to-day operations and take responsibility for clinical quality, staffing, budgets, service performance and the effective delivery of safe patient care.

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration or registered Operating Department Practitioner with current HCPC registration
  • Substantial operating theatre experience
  • At least two years’ experience in a senior theatre leadership position
  • Proven people management and team leadership experience
  • Experience managing budgets, resources and service performance
  • Strong operational, communication and decision‑making skills
Key Responsibilities

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Predominantly Monday to Friday
  • Participation in the management on‑call rota
  • Current on‑call commitment of approximately one weekend in every four to six
