Spire Hartswood Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Theatre Healthcare Assistant to join the team on a full-time basis.

Spire Hartswood Hospital is a 49-bed facility with 4 theatres, offering a comprehensive range of services and facilities. Our vision is to be recognized as a world-class healthcare provider, bringing together the best people dedicated to developing excellent clinical environments and delivering the highest quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the multidisciplinary operating team by providing a timely portering service, including escorting patients between wards, departments, and theatre suite; transporting equipment, medical records, meals, specimens, and linen; moving furniture.
  • Perform routine tasks related to patient health and well-being.
  • Communicate information effectively and contribute to personal development.
  • Maintain own and others’ health, safety, and security.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing services.
  • Ensure actions support quality, equality, diversity, and rights.
  • Move patients, surgical equipment, and goods safely.
  • Acknowledge risks related to Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand responsibilities for prevention and control.
Who We're Looking For:
  • Experience of acting under instruction.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • General portering skills.
  • Competence in moving and handling.
  • English language proficiency at IELTS 7.0 level.
  • Experience in moving and handling patients in the perioperative area.
  • Ability to attach additional equipment to operating tables and trolleys.
  • Safe use of perioperative equipment specific to the role.
  • Experience as a porter or in a similar caring role within a clinical environment.
