Job summary

Spire Methley Park Hospital in Methley (LS26) is looking for an experienced Clinical Healthcare Assistant to join the Theatre Department on a full-time, permanent basis. You will support the theatre team with patient care, assist nurses during procedures and help with instrument preparation.

Applicants should have NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, strong communication skills, and experience in ECGs, blood pressure and patient observations. Cannulation is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working as an HCA (or equivalent) in a clinical environment.
• NVQ Level 3 and Health and Social Care qualifications held.
• Care competencies completed and good communication skills.
• Cannulation experience is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in ECGs, taking blood pressures and patient observations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the theatre nurses during procedures and care for patients.
• Transport patients to and from the ward and prepare sterile packs.
• Ensure instruments are prepared and theatre cleanliness maintained.
• Support with instrument handling and other duties as required.
