Woodlands Hospital in Darlington is inviting applications for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Theatres team. This full-time role covers 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern to meet patient care needs.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and demonstrate strong communication, empathy, and teamwork. The role includes supporting nursing staff and ensuring safe, compassionate patient care across theatre services.

Formación

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.
• Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills.

Responsabilidades

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, mobility and comfort while maintaining dignity.
• Support eating and hydration, documenting intake as required.
• Provide emotional support to patients and relatives in a caring environment.
• Record routine observations (BP, pulse, resp rate, temperature, SpO2, glucose) after training.
• Assist with basic clinical procedures and wound care setup.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas and equipment for use.
• Collaborate with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin staff to ensure safe patient care.
