Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Theatre Practitioner (Anaesthetics) to join the perioperative team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. The post is Band 5 on a permanent contract with 37.5 hours per week, offering opportunities for development and training within a large, busy theatre service.

Suitable candidates include ODPs or RN(anaesthetics) with HCPC/NMC registration and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• RN / ODA / ODP
• Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
• NMC or HCPC active registration
• Evidence of completed formal Anaesthetic training
• Teaching and assessing qualification (or willing to work towards)

Responsibilities

• To work as part of the multidisciplinary team, providing safe and effective care for patients during the Perioperative period.
• To undertake the management of a defined clinical area in accordance with own competence and level of experience when required.
• To participate as an integral member of the theatre team.
• Participate in the supervision and training of students and junior staff.
• We are committed to developing our staff and offer educational opportunities including the PGCert in core perioperative areas and pathways for development to Master's level.
