Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Pharmacist in Haematology/Oncology - Cancer Services to join our Pharmacy Team in rotation between The London Clinic and Barts Health NHS Trust. This rotational post offers high-level experience across a broad range of Cancer activities in both NHS and Private sectors. The role involves supporting Service Lead Pharmacists at each site in delivering and developing a high-quality, clinical pharmacy service to Cancer patients. We offer a competitive Band 8a salary for this position.

About the Department

The Pharmacy Department at The London Clinic comprises around 45 staff and includes 9 core services: On Call, Dispensary Services, Distribution and Top Up Service, Procurement, Clinical Ward Pharmacy Services, TPN Provision, Aseptic/Technical Services, Clinical Governance, and Education & Training. The department features extensive oncology services, including a dedicated chemotherapy aseptic compounding suite and an automated medication dispensing system supporting decentralized medicine management across wards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop cancer pharmacy services, managing pharmacy operations for day case chemotherapy and providing clinical services to Haematology and Solid Tumour patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Coordinate with wards, departments, and pharmacy to tailor services to institutional needs.

Role Details

• Type: Full Time, Permanent, 37.5 hours/week plus on-call shifts.
• Location: The London Clinic, 22 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW.
• Salary: Band 8a equivalent, commensurate with experience.

• Manage formulary guidance, cost-effective drug expenditure, and key performance indicators.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and medicine use.
