Job summary

WSH Restaurants, based in the UK, is recruiting for a Kitchen Porter at The Clockspire. You will support the kitchen team by washing dishes, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with basic food preparation to help chefs create a safe, efficient work environment.

The role involves inventory tasks, goods in and out, and adhering to health and safety standards. A strong teamwork ethic and proactive attitude are essential.

Qualifications

  • No formal education is required, but a high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Hands on and proactive approach.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment manually or in a dishwasher.
  • Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops and food prep areas.
  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks.
  • Receive, store and organise kitchen supplies and ingredients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of the kitchen and ensure equipment works properly.
  • Process goods in and out as required.

Job Description

We are looking for individuals that want to join and assist our kitchen team to maintain the cleaning and washing with the BOH areas and support the chefs in developing a safe place to work.

  • up to £13per hour
  • Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
  • Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
  • Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
  • Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
  • Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order
  • Goods in and out
