Job summary

Herbert Parkinson, part of the John Lewis Partnership, is seeking an experienced professional to develop and implement products into our manufacturing operations in Darwen. You will collaborate with production partners to create a prototype and work with the Product Manager on the prototype, establishing scalable, high-quality specifications.

The role emphasizes creating robust SOPs, enabling handover to operations and commercial teams, and upskilling our Partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in textile manufacturing.
• Proven track record of delivering a product pipeline.
• Understanding of product development lifecycles and creating specifications.
• Excellent presentation and training capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the development and implementation of products into the manufacturing operation.
• Collaborate with production partners to create an initial prototype of a new product.
• Liaise with the Product Manager on the developed prototype.
• Establish efficient ways to achieve scalable manufacturing specifications for high-quality, repeatable products.
• Create robust SOPs to define new products and processes, handing over to Operational and Commercial teams.
• Support upskilling and refresher training for all Partners.
• Help develop and supervise a training school and engage with the local community to inspire future talent.
