Job summary

Fortem is recruiting a permanent Testing Electrician to join our social housing maintenance team serving Bournemouth and Salisbury areas. The role includes electrical testing, EICRs, consumer unit changes, and on-site service delivery with a company van, fuel card and tools.

Travel is essential; typical hours are Mon–Fri 8:00–16:30, with on-call rota and annual leave benefits. The candidate will take ownership of jobs with a focus on first-time fixes, working within budget and time constraints,

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical (2356) with AM2 portfolio or equivalent.
• C&G 18th Edition Certificate.
• JIPB H&S Test Certificate with Current JIBP card.
• Testing & Inspecting Certificate 2391 or C&G 2377.
• PAT Certificate.
• Full UK driving licence with <=6 points and no bans.
• Ability to pass Basic DBS Check.

Responsibilities

• Inspect & test electrical installations and fill in Electrical Certificate or EICR.
• Carry out EICRs and consumer unit changes/upgrades as required.
• Advise Supervisor when other trades are needed.
• Work with other operatives to complete projects.
• Complete daily worksheets detailing work and materials used.
• Work in a timely and productive manner to complete projects.
• Provide excellent customer service to tenants and clients.

Job description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a permanent Testing Electrician to join us on our social housing maintenance team at the Stonewater Housing branch. This will be covering a patch of social housing properties across Bournemouth and Salisbury and surrounding areas, therefore travel is essentialThe core working hours are Monday to Friday Start at 8.00am-4:30pmWe provide a competitive salary + Company Van, Fuel card and Power Tools.+ Generous paying ON CALL Rota (Approx. 1 week in every 6 weeks)You will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of Electrical Testing as required including EICRs and consumer unit changes, ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of Supervision.You will take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters.

Stonewater Housing is one of our long-term Social Housing contracts. We look after over 7,500 properties in 4 different areas of the South-West, from Taunton and Yeovil, over to Bristol and Swindon and down to Salisbury and Bournemouth.We currently deliver Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and an Electrical Service program.We are currently rated as 4.5 on Glassdoor and 93% of staff would recommend to a friend!

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect & test electrical installations and have the ability to fill in correctly, the appropriate Electrical Certificate or Electrical Condition Report
• Carry out EICRs and remedial upgrades to properties and consumer unit changes
• Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Completing daily work sheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job undertaken.
• Working in a timely and productive manner to complete projects.
• Provide excellent customer service to both tenants and clients.

What you will need

Essential criteria:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical (2356) with AM2 portfolio to support your experience (not just EAL)
• This can be a combination of C&G 2360 Part 1&2 Electrotechnical Competences plus the NVQ 3 Certificate 2356 with Technical Certs L2&3 plus the NVQ 3 Certificate or just the NVQ 3 2356 certificate
• C&G 18th Edition Certificate
• JIPB H&S Test Certificate with Current JIBP card
• Testing & Inspecting Certificate 2391 or C&G 2377
• PAT Certificate
• Full UK driving license with less than 6 points and no recent driving bans
• Must be able to pass a Basic DBS Check
