Fortem are recruiting a Plumber Multi Skilled Trade to cover social housing properties across Bristol, Chippenham and Swindon. Core hours are Monday–Friday, with a company van, fuel card, PPE and tools provided, plus a generous on-call rota.

The role emphasises first-time fixes, adherence to safety guidelines, and working within budgets and timelines. Essential qualifications include NVQ/City & Guilds Plumbing or equivalent, G3 Unvented, and a full UK licence with up to 5 points.

Due to continued successful growth, We have a new permanent opportunity to join our Fortem Repairs and Maintenance team at Stonewater Housing as a Plumber Multi Skilled Trade which uses core Plumbing skills and basic carpentry.The Plumber Multi Trade will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties covering a patch across Bristol, Chippenham and Swindon so travel is essential.Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm - Work Van, Fuel card Tools provided! + Generous ON CALL rotaThis will involve carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance to Social Housing properties, ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision.The Plumber Multi takes ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters

The Customer

Stonewater Housing is one of our long term contracts. We look after over 7,500 houses in 4 different areas of the South-West, from Taunton and Yeovil, over to Bristol and Swindon and down to Salisbury and Bournemouth. We currently deliver Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and an Electrical Service program.We pride ourselves on our great customer service and our senior leadership team has years of experience within this sector which can help you develop your learning and knowledge base.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Completing Full Plumbing and basic carpentry repairs work for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
• Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices.
• Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
• Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
• Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures
• Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

What you will need

Essential Criteria:NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in Plumbing / OR Qualified by experience will be consideredG3 UnventedAbility to install Cylinders and Bath and WC installationsFull UK driving license (Max 5 points) and no recent driving bansMust be able to pass basic DBS checkDesirable but not essential:Social Housing experience
