Our client in Littlehampton requires a New Product Electronics Test Engineer on an ongoing assignment.

Test Technician - NPI

Our client, a leading global manufacturing company in the field of precision power conversion and control solutions, is seeking a Test Technician - NPI to join their team on a contract basis. With a focus on electronics testing and fault finding, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of electronic equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform various production assembly operations on electronic components and sub-assemblies.
  • Utilise test procedures, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot units.
  • Work on semi-routine assignments, recognising nonconformities and ensuring adherence to production schedules.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and team members.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements in the workplace.
  • Maintain fixturing, perform calibration, and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Work under limited supervision, contribute to training of other employees, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Ensure tasks are performed accurately and completely.
  • Cross-train on multiple product platforms.
  • Contribute to process improvements, lead time reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testing preferred.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt in a team environment.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including AE Nexus, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in relevant SAP applications.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in electronic testing and troubleshooting (or equivalent).
  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing new test fixturing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices.
  • HNC or Electrical/Electronics Degree.
