Job summary

Proactive Global is recruiting a Test Technician for an electronics manufacturer based in St Ives. The role involves performing functional testing of electronic assemblies, PCBs, and finished products, with a focus on diagnosing faults and ensuring quality standards.

You will use oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, and other test equipment, recording results and supporting root-cause analysis. Immediate start available with opportunities for progression and development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electronic test based work.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills to component level.
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and engineering drawings.
• Experience using Oscilloscopes, Digital multimeters, Signal generators, Bench power supplies, Logic analysers.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing of electronic assemblies, PCBs, and finished products.
• Diagnose and fault-find down to component level on analogue and digital electronic circuits.
• Use test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analysers, and power supplies.
• Record test results, repair actions, and non-conformances in accordance with company procedures.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
• Liaise with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure all work complies with quality standards, ESD procedures, and health and safety requirements.

Location: St Ives

Salary: £31,000 - £32,000

Hours: 08:00am - 16:45pm Mon-Thurs - Fri 08:00-12:30pm

Proactive are currently in search of an experienced Test Technician to work for electronics manufacturer based in St. Ives- Immediate Start Available. This is an exciting opportunity offering ample opportunity for progression and development. As a Test Technician you will be required to perform functional testing of electronic assemblies, PCBs, and finished company products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing of electronic assemblies, PCBs, and finished products.
• Diagnose and fault-find down to component level on analogue and digital electronic circuits.
• Use test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analysers, and power supplies.
• Record test results, repair actions, and non‑conformances in accordance with company procedures.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
• Liaise with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure all work complies with quality standards, ESD procedures, and health and safety requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in electronic test based work.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills to component level.
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and engineering drawings.
• Experience using Oscilloscopes, Digital multimeters (DMM), Signal/function generators, Bench power supplies, Logic analysers (desirable).
• Good attention to detail and methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
