Job summary

Oxford-based, hybrid Test & Systems Engineer role joining the engineering team. You’ll work across software testing, automation, systems troubleshooting and releases with Linux, Python, Docker and connected systems.

You’ll own testing, automate with Python and Bash, debug complex issues, collaborate with developers, and engage in Docker, Git and CI/CD workflows as part of testing and releases.

Responsibilities

Have you used Python or Bash to automate testing, investigate bugs or improve engineering processes?

Looking for something more technical than a traditional support or manual QA role?

Our client is a growing Oxford-based technology business looking for a Test & Systems Engineer to join its engineering team.

You’ll work across software testing, automation, systems troubleshooting and releases, getting hands-on with Linux, Python, Docker and connected systems.

This is a role for someone who wants to test, investigate and improve technology, rather than simply follow predefined test scripts.

You’ll get to:

• Own software and systems testing, including regression, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Automate with Python and Bash, making testing and technical processes faster and more reliable.

• Work closely with developers, reproducing issues and validating fixes.

There is some interaction with users when complex issues arise, but this is an engineering-led position rather than a traditional support desk role.

About You

You could currently be a Test Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, Systems Engineer, Integration Engineer or come from a software engineering background where testing and debugging have become your strengths.

• A methodical approach to debugging complex technical problems
