In this role as People & Finance Test & Release Lead, you will oversee the release management and testing of Oracle Fusion ERP and HCM. While Virgin Atlantic’s Managed Service Provider will handle the delivery of release management and testing activities, your role is essential to ensure that releases are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

You will define test and release strategies, oversee the development and delivery of release plans, and serve as the primary liaison between the team and other stakeholders. As a key contact for testing and release management expertise, you will work towards process improvements and support the broader People and Finance functions to enhance testing and release standards.

Day to day

1. Strategy, Planning, and Coordination: Define and communicate the release management process. Collaborate with Oracle, the Managed Service Provider, and stakeholders to maintain an effective process. Conduct weekly reviews of upcoming releases and escalate issues promptly.
2. Release Management: Coordinate with systems, testing, change management, and business teams to ensure alignment and clarity on delivery scope and plans. Monitor progress, provide updates, identify and manage risks, conduct release readiness reviews, and oversee activities from the Managed Service Provider.
3. Testing Oversight: Ensure all testing activities meet quality standards. Maintain processes for defect and issue tracking. Resolve testing or quality challenges collaboratively.
4. Continuous Improvement: Work to improve release processes, drive efficiencies via test automation, and support stakeholders with training. Act as the go-to person for testing and release management advice within People and Finance.
