Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead testing across a portfolio of digital systems and transformation programmes. You will oversee planning, coordination and delivery of testing across multiple projects, ensuring solutions meet functional requirements before deployment in clinical environments.

The role requires strong knowledge of testing methodologies, SDLCs such as SCRUM/SAFe, and a proven track record of influencing stakeholders to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Degree in testing or equivalent extensive experience.
• ISTQB Foundation or Advanced qualification.
• Leadership of testing in large IT environments.
• Experience producing test artefacts to support testing.
• Experience managing defects with suppliers.
• Knowledge of SDLCs such as SCRUM and SAFe.
• Knowledge of clinical systems (EPR/Theatre) advantageous.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Testing Team with effective line management and staff development.
• Deputise for Senior Testing and Release Manager and approve timesheets/expenses.
• Develop and maintain testing policies, procedures and change control processes.
• Provide expert leadership in software testing for major digital programmes.
• Coordinate testing across SIT, ST and UAT with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Produce reports and testing documentation; mentor colleagues in test scripts.
• Coordinate resources beyond direct line management to meet testing objectives.
