Job summary

Vanquis is seeking a lead Test Manager to steer quality engineering across Salesforce, MuleSoft and enterprise data platforms. You will define strategy, standards and governance to give the business confidence to release safely, while protecting customers, colleagues and regulatory outcomes.

You will develop a high-performing test practice, coach Test Leads and Engineers, and partner with Architecture, Product and Risk to embed early quality and predictable delivery in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Substantial quality engineering and test management experience across complex, integrated enterprise delivery.
• Strong experience in risk-based test strategy, planning, estimation, governance, defect management and release assurance.

As Test Manager, you'll lead our Solution Engineering testing capability, setting the strategy, standards and governance that give the business confidence to release safely. You'll protect customer, colleague and regulatory outcomes while developing a high-performing test practice.

How you'll make an impact:

You will work closely with Test Leads, Engineering, Architecture, Product, Delivery, Operations, Risk, Security, Data and business stakeholders, translating technical quality evidence into clear business impact and release-readiness recommendations.

• Substantial quality engineering and test management experience across complex, integrated enterprise delivery.
• Proven people leadership, including coaching, objective setting, development, performance management, recruitment and workforce planning.
• Expertise in risk-based test strategy, planning, estimation, governance, defect management, quality metrics and release assurance.
• Strong experience of Salesforce testing, MuleSoft integration and API testing, data assurance and automated regression.
• Experience setting automation frameworks, CI/CD quality gates, test-data and environment controls, and auditable evidence.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to convert technical evidence into business risk and clear decisions.
• Awareness of regulated financial services, UK GDPR, secure data handling, ITIL/ITSM change controls and audit requirements.

Useful, but not essential

• ISTQB Advanced Test Manager, or equivalent senior test-management experience.
• Salesforce or MuleSoft certification, or strong practical platform experience.
• Experience in consumer lending, cards, retail banking, fintech, data migration or regulatory change.

You'll have the opportunity to shape quality engineering standards, lead improvement across automation, environments and test data, and develop a broad team of Test Leads, Test Engineers and Associate Test Engineers. The role offers scope to deepen your senior leadership, platform and regulated-delivery expertise.
