Job summary

Scrumconnect Ltd is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to design, implement and maintain automated tests for public sector digital services. You will work in multidisciplinary agile teams, testing UI, microservices and APIs using Selenium, Cypress or Playwright, integrating tests into CI/CD to deliver quality at pace.

The role requires hands-on automation skills in Java or JavaScript/TypeScript, experience with BDD/Cucumber, and a focus on performance, security and accessibility testing.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience of test automation and programming.
• Experience testing microservices, UI and API automation.
• Experience with BDD and Cucumber.
• Experience with Selenium, Cypress or Playwright.
• Experience with REST Assured for API testing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing.
• Experience with performance, security and accessibility testing.
• Experience in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain automated tests for UI and APIs, using Selenium, Cypress or Playwright and REST Assured.
• Test microservices, including service interactions and contracts.
• Write behaviour-driven (BDD) tests using Cucumber that the whole team can read and trust.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines so tests run continuously.
• Plan and run performance, security and accessibility testing.
• Write clean, maintainable test code, and review other engineers' tests.
• Analyse results, raise defects with clear evidence and help track them to a fix.
• Work with developers, business analysts and product owners to define acceptance criteria and test coverage.
• Report on quality, test coverage and release risks.
• Share good test automation practice and support colleagues.
