In this role, reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, you’ll define and optimise methods to ensure products meet mechanical, environmental, optical, and electronics performance specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and instructions based on customer requirements.
Configure test setups, fixtures, and instrumentation.
Operate automated and manual test equipment, including data acquisition systems and environmental chambers.
Oversee multiple test projects and manage schedules.
Maintain data accuracy through thorough documentation.
Write test reports and ensure calibrated equipment compliance.
Design and deploy test fixtures and develop new test equipment.
Support production by implementing standard tests for new products.
Manage subcontractor tasks and source lab supplies.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
3-5 years’ experience in mechanical design within a precision industry.
Proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks) and understanding of BS 8888.
Experience with precision mechanisms, electronic packaging, and finite element analysis.
Ability to interpret drawings, standards, and specifications.
Strong skills in data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
Familiarity with standard business software (MS Office).
Commitment to quality, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Eligibility to work in the UK and pass security vetting.
Experience with optical and mechanical components.
LabVIEW or similar automation tools.
Knowledge of Quality Control principles.
Strong attention to detail and motivation.
