Due to current successful development and exciting projects, an established and successful engineering company based in Derby (Derbyshire) who specialise in the Automotive Industry are now hiring for a brand new Test Development Engineer to join the Research & Development Team.

Salary on offer:

The salary on offer for the successful Test Development Engineer is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum.

About the role:

The ideal Test Development Engineer will need to have a background in Electronics, Mechanical Systems & Software and experience of LabVIEW & Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL). The successful Test Development Engineer will play a significant role in designing and executing cutting-edge test solutions and test rigs for advanced automotive electronics.

Test Development Engineer Key Skills:

  • 3-5+ years industry experience
  • Proven expertise in developing closed-loop test solutions for embedded systems, ideally within automotive or electronics industries
  • Expertise in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)
  • LabVIEW development experience
  • Custom Test Hardware - Design and build bespoke Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) solutions, including electronic circuits, PCB layouts, and material fabrications.
  • Strong hardware and software design skills, with hands-on experience in system integration.
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting in high-pressure environments.
  • Experience debugging and optimizing real-time hardware and software systems.
  • In-depth understanding of automotive systems, wiring diagrams, electronics, and communication protocols.
