The Senior Test & Development Engineer will be responsible for the design, manufacture, verification, and validation, along with through-life technical support of board-level, sub-system, and system-level test equipment.

Duration: 12-month contract
We have multiple opportunities available with this team and are looking for both permanent and contract members!
Responsibilities:
- Design of functional test equipment for circuit cards, sub-assemblies, and systems.
- Take responsibility for the design and overall quality of the test equipment and provide leadership and guidance for junior engineers.
- Document design specifications and implementation details. Participate in design reviews. Uphold design standards and methodologies.
- Realize complex system requirements to provide robust and reliable test hardware solutions.
- Manage the complete implementation of detailed technical items with an understanding of system-level components.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to agree on system designs, interfaces, and protocols.
- Develop test hardware, software, and procedures to verify hardware operation.
- Support manufacturing by resolving product queries and technical issues.
- Manage obsolescence of test hardware throughout its lifecycle.
- Monitor and report progress of test development to supervisors and teams.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and company policies.
- Conduct activities in line with company values, policies, and ethics.
- Perform other activities as requested by management.
- Apply Design Review Processes.
- Identify and manage engineering risks and opportunities.
- Guide test development processes and tools.
- Contribute to resource planning using Microsoft Project.
- Lead small/medium test engineering programs.
- Engage with SMEs to support activities.
- Approve and standardize test development processes.
- Act as key interface with external customers and suppliers.
- Possess excellent knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design.
- Write comprehensive technical documentation.
- Support design handover and management in production.
- Support/debug system integration.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in Defence/Aerospace or safety-regulated environments is advantageous.
- Use of Mentor Graphics schematic and PCB layout tools.
- Understanding of test architectures PXI/d LXI.
- Knowledge of Measurement Uncertainty in test design and validation.
- Familiarity with NI LabView, NI CVI, NI TestStand, C#.
