Job summary

Experis UK is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join a growing team working on UK defence and national security projects. Hybrid arrangement typically 3 days on-site and 2 days from home. You will design and develop automated test scripts and work with developers and test analysts to improve software quality.

DV clearance is required at the time of application. The role offers dedicated training, development opportunities and potential travel within the UK and overseas.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join a growing team working on projects within the UK defence and national security sector.

Working alongside software developers and test analysts, you will help design and develop automated test scripts, investigate software issues and contribute to improving the quality and reliability of software systems.

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must hold valid Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance at the time of application.

Skills and Experience

We are interested in candidates who can demonstrate a genuine interest in software testing, automation and problem-solving.

• Knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, PowerShell, C# or Java.
• An analytical approach to investigating technical issues and identifying solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
• The ability to work collaboratively with technical colleagues and communicate findings clearly.
• A willingness to learn, develop new skills and take on increasing responsibility.

A degree in Computer Science, Software Development or a related discipline, or an ISTQB qualification, is desirable to the role. Practical experience and a strong technical foundation will also be important considerations.
