Job summary

Bright Purple Resourcing Ltd, on behalf of a Liverpool client, is seeking two Senior Automation Engineers for a hybrid contract starting this month. The role is based in Liverpool with onsite Tue-Thu.

You'll design, build and maintain test automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript, collaborating with developers, BAs and product owners to deliver quality software and ensure robust CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Automation Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong hands-on skills in Playwright and TypeScript.
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients.
• Collaborative, proactive approach and fit with client’s people-focused culture.
• Insurance sector experience would be a real advantage, but isn’t essential.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Build robust, scalable and maintainable automation frameworks.
• Work with developers, BAs and product owners to ensure quality from the start.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Share progress, risks and recommendations with client stakeholders.

Senior Automation Engineer Contract Liverpool (Hybrid)

Bright Purple is working with a client in Liverpool to find two Senior Automation Engineers for a contract starting this month.

Location: Liverpool, onsite Tuesday to Thursday

Rate: £325 - £350 per day - Statement of Work

Start date: 12 October 2026

Duration: 3 months initially, with a view to extend by a further 6 months

The role

You’ll design, build and maintain test automation frameworks with Playwright and TypeScript. The work is hands-on, but you’ll also be client-facing: you’ll work closely with stakeholders, explain your approach and help raise the quality bar across the team.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing, building and improving automated test suites using Playwright and TypeScript
• Building robust, scalable and maintainable automation frameworks
• Working with developers, BAs and product owners to make sure quality is built in from the start
• Fitting automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Sharing progress, risks and recommendations clearly with client stakeholders
• Mentoring and supporting other team members on automation best practice
