Job summary

Certas Energy in the United Kingdom is seeking a Terminal Manager to lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of our terminal facilities. You will manage all operational activities, uphold safety and environmental legislation, control costs and develop high-performing teams.

The role requires extensive experience in terminal or regulated environments, with a focus on profitability, customer service and continuous improvement. On-site work across depots and delivery operations is expected.

Qualifications

  • Significant operational leadership experience within terminal, depot, logistics or regulated environment.
  • Strong financial management, budgeting and cost control experience.
  • Excellent understanding of operational compliance, health and environmental legislation.
  • Strong customer relationship management and commercial awareness.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and operational systems.
  • Experience within fuel distribution, storage terminals or energy sector.
  • Knowledge of CODAS and industry-specific systems.
  • Experience managing major hazard sites and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safe and efficient operation of terminal facilities while ensuring compliance.
  • Manage operational budgets including Capex, Revex, maintenance and opex.
  • Monitor financial performance, forecast needs and improve profitability.
  • Build relationships with key customers and maintain service levels.
  • Support commercial growth by identifying business opportunities.
  • Oversee MAPP implementation and safety management system compliance.
  • Ensure all terminal activities meet legal, environmental and HSE requirements.
  • Manage audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement via KPI analysis and efficiency initiatives.
  • Lead, coach and develop terminal teams.
  • Oversee recruitment, succession planning and workforce development.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Terminal Manager to lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of our terminal facilities. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing all operational activities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental legislation, maintaining customer service standards, controlling costs and developing high-performing teams.

At Certas Energy, we're the UK's largest independent distributor of fuel and lubricants, serving homes, businesses and industries through a nationwide network of depots and delivery operations.

What you'll be doing
  • Leading the safe and efficient operation of terminal facilities whilemaintainingfull regulatory compliance.
  • Managing operational budgets, including Capex, Revex, maintenance and operating expenditure.
  • Monitoring financial performance, forecasting businessrequirementsandidentifyingopportunities to improve profitability.
  • Building effective relationships with key customers and ensuring agreed service levels are consistently achieved.
  • Supporting commercial growth byidentifyingbusiness development opportunities.
  • Taking responsibility for Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP) implementation and Safety Management System compliance.
  • Ensuring all terminal activities meet or exceed legal,environmentaland health & safety requirements.
  • Managing audits, risk assessments, incidentinvestigationsand corrective actionprogrammes.
  • Driving continuous improvement through performance monitoring, KPI analysis and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Leading, coaching and developing terminal teams.
  • Managing recruitment, succession planning, employeedevelopmentand workforce planning activities.
What you'll need from you
