Job summary

St George’s Primary School within Dorset Council is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a fixed-term, part-time role (19.5 hours per week) covering mornings and one weekly afternoon. Immediate start with potential continuation into Sept 2027.

Qualifications

Teaching Assistant Qualification – NVQ Level 2, equivalent or higher.
Excellent communication and personal organisational skills.
Confident and resilient when working with children.
Passionate in supporting children to succeed.
Experience of working within and across EYFS/KS1.
Ability to work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to raise standards.
Adaptable and flexible approach to supporting children on an individual basis.
Experience of supporting pupils with additional needs.
Ability to work collaboratively with SENDCo and outside agencies to deliver personalised programmes.

Responsibilities

Support pupils in EYFS/KS1 and with group interventions.
