Weston College is seeking a Welfare and Wellbeing Officer (Term Time Only) working 14.8 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, based in Weston-super-Mare. The role provides welfare and mental health support to learners and works with curriculum teams to support students at risk of leaving.

Interviews will be conducted on-site at one of our campuses. The post requires a student-focused, motivated, and professional individual who can collaborate with staff and external agencies to safeguard welfare

Qualifications

• Experience giving advice on welfare issues and supporting positive mental health.
• Experience working with and supporting young people.
• Student-focused approach to work.
• Motivation, enthusiasm and a professional approach.

Responsabilités

• Provide effective welfare and mental health support, advice and guidance to all learners.
• Identify and support students at risk of leaving and implement action plans to improve attendance and progression.
• Advise staff across the college on welfare and mental health issues.
• Maintain links with external agencies, develop referral systems and attend external meetings or training on behalf of Weston College.
