Job summary

Weston College in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a Welfare and Wellbeing Officer. This is a part-time role, 14.8 hours per week, term-time only (39 weeks). Interviews will take place on-site at one of our campuses in Weston-super-Mare.

You will provide effective welfare and mental health support, advice and guidance to learners, work with curriculum teams to support students at risk of leaving, and implement action plans to improve attendance and progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in giving advice on and dealing with welfare issues and supporting positive mental health.
• Experience working with and supporting young people.
• A student focussed approach to work.
• Motivation, enthusiasm and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide welfare and mental health support, advice and guidance to learners.
• Work with curriculum teams to identify students at risk of leaving and implement action plans to improve attendance.
• Provide advice and guidance to staff across the college on welfare and mental health issues.
• Maintain links with external agencies and attend external meetings, training and events.
