Job summary

Randstad Staffing partners with an established Further Education provider in Bromley to recruit a Student Achievement Tutor for term-time hours. The role focuses on guiding post-16 students to overcome barriers, build life skills, and progress to higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.

The position involves collaboration with pastoral and curriculum teams to deliver targeted interventions and ensure student welfare throughout the academic year.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in literacy and numeracy (essential).
• A relevant degree (e.g., Youth Work) or FE experience desirable.
• Experience facilitating group workshops and delivering 1-to-1 support to young people.
• Strong communication skills, calm under pressure, empathetic approach.
• Reliable commute to Bromley, London; flexible for peak calendar events.

Responsibilities

• Deliver weekly group tutorials covering safeguarding, pastoral care, study skills, and career prep.
• Manage a caseload of ~15 groups (≈300 students).
• Conduct structured 1-to-1 mentoring with SMART targets and progress checks.
• Lead attendance and behaviour interventions with curriculum teams; liaise with parents/carers.
