Job summary

Compass Associates is supporting a well-established specialist provider in two schools near Swansea, seeking a Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to deliver needs-based therapy and consulting services. The role combines direct clinical work with staff training and wider multidisciplinary collaboration.

The post requires HCPC registration, 2–3 years post-qualification experience, and a driver’s license to travel between sites. Term-time only, 41 weeks per year, 37.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist.
• Approximately 2–3 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience in providing therapy to children and young people.
• Full UK driving licence required due to two-site role.
• Experience with AAC/high-tech AAC or Makaton advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical SLT intervention to pupils with complex communication needs.
• Offer consultation and staff training to school staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in supervision, coaching and mentoring of colleagues.
• Contribute to and develop therapeutic practice across two specialist schools.
