Job summary

Lightwoods Primary Academy on Castle Road is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant to work under the Catering Manager, helping with preparation, cooking, serving and kitchen cleaning.

This role is 10 hours per week, term time only plus one week, with a pro rata salary of £6,044 per year or Band A SCP 3 (£25,615 full-time). An Enhanced DBS check is required and the post starts as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• DBS check required (Enhanced Disclosure) for safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Work under the control and direction of the Catering Manager, assisting with the preparation, cooking, serving and the general kitchen cleaning.
• Assist with the preparation and cooking of food and refreshments as required.
• Assist with care, maintenance and cleaning of all equipment in use in the kitchen.
• Prepare the dining room for service, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping and laying of tables when necessary.
• Move dining room furniture within the dining room when necessary.
• Serve meals and refreshments in line with Academy requirements.
• Assist with the Catering Manager and colleagues with Academy hospitality functions.
• Assist with washing up of all kitchen and dining equipment.
• Assist with general daily cleaning of kitchen and associated areas.
