Job summary

Caterlink in Torquay is hiring a Cook for a part-time, term-time role with no weekend work. You will prepare, cook, and present nutritionally balanced meals, ensuring high standards and full compliance with health and safety policies.

You will oversee daily operations, inventories, and budgets, while guiding and developing a small team and maintaining excellent client relationships. The role offers a supportive environment focused on service excellence in education catering, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and presentation to professional standards.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and compliance procedures.
• Strong understanding of Food Safety regulations and environmental legislation.
• Experience in inventory management and budget monitoring.
• Proven supervisory and team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present food to high standards while ensuring safety and compliance.
• Manage day-to-day operations, supervise teams, and monitor inventories and budgets.
• Serve as primary client contact, communicate improvements, and monitor KPIs.
• Train, induct, and develop team members; lead by example and ensure fair performance management.
