Job summary

Ark Alexandra Academy in Hastings is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our catering team. The role is term-time only (39 weeks plus holiday weeks) with pay spread evenly across the year.

You will work 9.30am–2.30pm, Monday to Friday, under a Catering Supervisor, serving meals made from fresh ingredients. Experience in a busy kitchen, a health and safety/food hygiene qualification (or willingness to train) and a team-oriented, reliable attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen.
• Available to work 9:30 am–2:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
• Resilient character with strong personal drive.
• Health & safety and/or food hygiene qualification or willing to train.
• Team player with initiative and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily meal preparation in a busy kitchen.
• Interact with staff and students while serving meals.
• Operate cashless tills and catering equipment.
• Be flexible to cover shifts on both campuses as needed.
