Job summary

Notton House Academy in Wiltshire (between Chippenham and Lacock) is hiring a part-time cleaner for term-time duties. The role covers early-morning shifts across a broad site, including a Grade II listed building with extensive facilities.

The 22-hour week is spread over Mon-Wed mornings and Thu/Fri mornings, with training and safeguarding commitments. The school offers a range of staff benefits and a supportive environment for staff in education professionals.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a busy, friendly team.
• Physical capability to undertake active work (bending, lifting, stretching and operating machinery).
• A reliable, adaptable and approachable attitude.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and use basic electronic devices for communication.
• Commitment to safeguarding child welfare and adhering to Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities policies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled cleaning duties across designated areas (vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing furniture and fittings).
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals and materials in line with procedures.
• Empty waste bins and safely transport waste to designated compounds.
• Replenish essential hygiene consumables (soap, toilet paper, hand towels).
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the line manager.
• Record keeping of supplies.
• Informing office when additional supplies are required.
