Outcomes First Group is seeking a Domestic Cleaner for Smallbrook School in Shrewsbury. The role is permanent, part-time (20 hours weekly), Monday to Friday with flexible hours discussed at interview. Term-time + two weeks during holidays, start Oct 2026. Salary £11,660 per year, not pro rata.

The ideal candidate will have school cleaning experience, holding a Full UK Driving Licence, and pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards in a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Has previous cleaning experience within a school environment – essential.
• Holds a Full UK Driving Licence – essential.
• Takes genuine pride in maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness.
• Is reliable, organised and able to manage their workload efficiently.
• Has a positive, practical and proactive approach.
• Can work independently as well as being part of a supportive team.
• Understands the importance of maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across classrooms, offices, communal areas and other allocated spaces.
• Carry out daily cleaning including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising and waste disposal.
• Ensure school spaces are clean, hygienic, welcoming and ready for students and colleagues to use.
• Follow agreed cleaning schedules and Health & Safety procedures.
• Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and appropriately.
• Help maintain a healthy and safe environment for children and young people.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards or Health & Safety concerns promptly.
• Work collaboratively with the wider school and facilities team to maintain consistently high standards.
