Job summary

Holroyd Howe is recruiting a Catering Team Member for Heath Mount School in Hertford. You will support the cafe and student supper service, delivering high-quality meals with care and efficiency.

The role emphasises allergen management, safety, and customer service for pupils, staff and visitors. DBS checks are required; right to work in the UK is essential. Term-time hours apply, with a 3.30pm–7pm window Tue–Thu.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract or high-volume catering.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Flexible, customer-focused and friendly.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Team player with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, service, and presentation of food to a high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas.
• Assist with food labelling, temperature checks, and allergen controls.
• Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors.
• Set up and clear service areas, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures.
• Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out-of-hours functions.
• Champion allergen controls and safety procedures.
