Newcastle City Council, at Dinnington First School, is seeking a Catering Assistant for the School Meals team. The role is term-time, 10 hours per week, 11:30pm to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday, with full training provided and DBS checks required.

You will wash equipment, help with food prep, serve meals, keep the dining area tidy, and support children during service in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• No experience required; full training provided.
• Reliable and friendly people with a positive attitude to join the School Meals team.

Responsibilities

• Wash catering equipment and clean the kitchen.
• Assist the chef with food preparation and hygiene.
• Maintain tidiness and presentation of the service area.
• Serve meals to children and describe the meals available.
• Set up dining room, clear away equipment and materials.
• Assist with lifting and moving items as required.
