Job summary

ISS UK Limited is seeking a Catering Assistant to support school dining services in a welcoming environment. You will help prepare, present and serve meals, keeping areas clean and safe while following allergen and dietary requirements.

The role includes handling deliveries, operating tills where needed, and delivering friendly service to students and staff. This term-time-only position offers annualised pay spread across 12 months, with monthly pay, and requires safeguarding and food safety

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering, food service, hospitality, or customer-facing role desirable.
• Commitment to safeguarding, food safety, and delivering excellent service
• Ability to follow procedures, and instructions accurately.
• Positive, reliable, and team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, presentation, and serving of meals.
• Set up and clear dining areas as required.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
• Follow allergen, dietary, and special meal requirements.
• Receive, store, and handle food deliveries correctly.
• Operate tills where required.
• Report any health and safety concerns, accidents, or equipment faults.
• Provide a friendly and professional service to students, staff, and visitors.
• Work collaboratively as part of the catering team to deliver an excellent customer experience.
