Job summary

TLTP Education is recruiting a Catering Assistant for a large secondary school in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. The role supports daily catering operations, performing basic food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked kitchen.

It is a permanent position, term-time only, with occasional evening or holiday work. Candidates should have GCSE English and Maths (grade 4/C or equivalent) and a relevant food hygiene or culinary qualification, or recent training.

Qualifications

• Basic food preparation skills and general kitchen duties.
• Good communication and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Preparing basic cold foods, including salads and sandwiches.
• Using a microwave to heat food products as required.
• Serving students and staff at counters and tills.
• Washing up dishes, cutlery and kitchen equipment.
• Cleaning kitchen and café areas, including floors, tables, worktops, fridges and freezers.
• Removing rubbish and waste from kitchen and food service areas.
• Restocking food outlets and vending machines.
• Receiving and putting away kitchen deliveries.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness.
• Supporting occasional evening or holiday work when required.
