Job summary

WYPF is seeking an Attendance Support Officer in Bradford to ensure every child can attend school regularly. You will collaborate with schools, families, Early Help, Children’s Social Care, NHS and Police to remove barriers to attendance and improve outcomes for Bradford’s children and young people.

The role involves engaging with schools and families, planning tailored support, and, where necessary, considering legal options to enforce attendance. This is a term-time-only post (39 weeks/year).

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children, young people and families.
• Knowledge of attendance barriers and Early Help processes.
• Optimistic, reliable, energetic, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Engage with schools, families and services to remove barriers to attendance.
• Plan packages of support to improve attendance and outcomes.
• Consider legal options if engagement fails, in line with council processes.
• Work across term-time schedule (39 weeks per year).
