Job summary

Bradford Council is seeking an Attendance Support Officer to help ensure every child can attend school regularly. You will work with schools, families and services to remove barriers and improve outcomes for Bradford’s children.

Experience with children and families, knowledge of attendance barriers, Early Help processes, and the option to enforce attendance when necessary will help you succeed. An Enhanced DBS check with Barred List is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with children and families and schools.
• Knowledge of barriers to attendance and Early Help processes.
• Understanding of legal options to enforce attendance, where required.
• Enhanced DBS check with Barred List.

Responsibilities

• Engage with schools, families and services to remove barriers to attendance.
• Plan packages of support to enable regular attendance.
• Persistently pursue solutions and, if necessary, consider legal options for enforcement.
• Work collaboratively to improve outcomes for Bradford’s children.
