Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant at a mainstream primary school in Eccleston (PR7) to begin October 2026. This fixed term contract covers the full academic year, with hours 8:45am–3:15pm, Monday to Friday (term time only). Pay is £14.25–£16.50 per hour, paid weekly.

The role supports pupils across EYFS and KS1, assisting teachers, working with individuals and small groups, and helping to create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in a UK mainstream classroom is essential.
• Patient, positive and nurturing approach to learning and behaviour.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils’ learning across EYFS and Key Stage 1.
• Assist class teachers with delivery of lessons and activities.
• Provide individual or small group support tailored to needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and foster relationships with pupils.
• Monitor pupil progress and engagement and report findings.
• Maintain a calm, inclusive learning environment.
