Halton Borough Council is recruiting a Term Time Only Driver/Assistant for the Passenger Transport Team. The role involves the safe transport of children with Special Educational Needs and vulnerable adults between homes and a variety of schools and care settings, within and outside the borough.
Applicants should hold a Full UK driving license (D1) and show compassion and professionalism in every interaction. The post is 20 hours per week, with split shifts across term time.

Client Transport have a fleet of assessable vehicles and cars that are required to transport SEN Children and Vulnerable Adults to various location within and outside the Authority boundaries. The operating centre is Lower House Lane Widnes, Transport Co-ordination staff have several driver/attendants that are required on a daily basis to run the service.

The successful applicant will be required to move equipment, safely manoeuvre wheelchairs, and provide appropriate physical assistance to passengers when necessary. We are looking for individuals who are compassionate, and professional, and who can contribute positively to our well‑established and highly respected transport service.
Each shift may have an operational difference, that may require a slight variation in length, dependent upon the daily client requirement.
