Job summary

Bonnygate Primary School is seeking a friendly Midday Assistant to supervise pupils during lunch breaks in the playground, dining hall, and school building. You will help maintain a safe, positive environment, encourage healthy habits, and support children with activities and personal care as required.

The role is 6 hours 15 minutes per week, term-time with inset days, paid annually. Start date 4 January 2027.

Qualifications

• Interact with children to encourage social skills and participate in activities.
• Be willing to undertake training, including First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Interact with the children to encourage social skills and lead outdoor activities to encourage participation.
• Encourage healthy eating, prepare the tables, supervise outdoor play, supervise the clearing up of games and toys, administer first aid and use the school’s behaviour plan.
• Ensure the safety and care of pupils who are injured or unwell; provide comfort if distressed.
• Assist children with personal care where necessary.
• Be willing to undertake training, including First Aid.
