Job summary

Oxford Health is seeking a part-time Healthcare Support Worker to join the School Aged Immunisation Service in East Oxford Health Centre. You will support the immunisation programme, provide administrative assistance and help administer vaccines to young people with supervision from a Registered Healthcare Professional.

Flexibility is essential with early starts and travel across Oxfordshire; preferred days are Wednesday to Friday during term-time.

Qualifications

• Requires Level 3 qualification (QCF/NVQ3) in healthcare.
• Experience as Healthcare Support Worker at or above NHS Career Framework Level 3.
• Experience supporting or delivering vaccination/immunisation programmes where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Organise, manage and deliver the school-based immunisation programme across schools.
• Attend immunisation sessions in schools and community clinics to provide admin support.
• Administer Flu vaccinations to young people following registration and supervision by a registered healthcare professional.
• Attend vaccination sessions to observe students post-vaccination and manage any immediate concerns.
• Support vaccination sessions with school liaison to arrange sessions and inform parents for informed consent.
• Assist with storage, transport and disposal of vaccines and equipment; ensure confidentiality of records.
• Maintain clear data and patient record confidentiality; communicate effectively with schools and families.
• Travel to schools and community venues; mileage reimbursed; adapt to flexible hours.
